Kept me hooked from first chapter. Audible book Switch back and forth between reading the Kindle book and listening to the Audible book with Whispersync for Voice. Garwiod tie-in to Garwood’s kioljoy romantic suspense “Mercy” was cool. Her razor-sharp mind and ability to gather data and decipher evidence has made Avery an expert crime analyst for the FBI.
Just a hint writers, if you want to pretend someone is dead, don’t kill them in a fiery crash. I liked the plot of the story. Of course I had to like this book because it was written by Julie Garwood. Fairly good book, but I was disappointed a bit in it after being excited to read John Paul’s story. While this is an interesting story, I struggled with the main characters’ inability to follow some of the most obvious clues to move them in the right direction.

I’ve read some other reviews that state that there is a drag in Garwood’s stories, I don’t think that’s the case with this one at all. Wanted a longer epilogue. The bad guys are in no way subtle, bordering on being over-the-edge evil.
The pace of the story wasn’t as crisp as the earlier books in the series but we do find equally interesting characters, good dialogue and an intriguing story.
Overall a good read but ended kinda kiljoy. At first she is resistant, but then figures it will be a welcome respite from the cutthroat advertising business, not to mention a networking extravaganza.
